COVID-19 Updates

Dear Friends and Supporters of Savannah Rep,

The health and safety of our audience, artists, and staff is our top priority. Therefore, in an effort to protect our community and help contain the spread of COVID-19, we sadly cannot open The Light in the Piazza as planned in early May. Our hopes are still high to bring you this beautiful show at the end of this national emergency. In order to buy some time to better figure out where things stand, we are tentatively pushing the dates back to the following:

June 5th – Opening Friday Night at 8pm
June 6thSaturday Night at 8pm
June 7th – Sunday at 2pm and 7pm
June 11th – Thursday Night at 8pm
June 12th – Friday Night at 8pm
June 13th – Saturday Night at 8pm
June 14th – Closing Sunday Matinee at 3pm

We understand that the situation may not have sufficiently improved by then but our fingers are crossed. For the sake of our actors and contracts with rights holders, we will make a final decision by May 3rd at the very latest. Broadway and the New York theater community at large are slated to be up and running again by then so that will be a good indicator.

In the event we have to cancel we will reach out individually to all ticketholders and SeasonCARD subscribers to manage how to best compensate you. All affected patrons will be offered the opportunity to transfer tickets to an upcoming date, process the ticket price as a donation, receive a patron credit for a future show, or receive a full refund. We are a small not-for-profit company and truly appreciate your patience as we deal with this. If you have any questions or concerns please contact us by calling and leaving a voicemail at (912) 436-3629 ext 1 or emailing us at whatsup@savannahrep.org. Someone will answer you as soon as possible.

As we all navigate this situation, we are reminded that so much of the power of the arts stems from the joy in coming together for a shared experience. As this virus forces us all to spend time apart, we are especially grateful for the opportunities we have had to come together with all of you who come through our doors show after show. We can’t wait to do it again.

Thank you for your continued support. Stay safe, and we will be in touch.

Sincerely,
Savannah Repertory Theatre
